Q2 - 2025

New features, improvements, and modules in Docusnap365 for the second quarter of 2025.

New Features in Docusnap365

NTFS Analysis

The new NTFS Analysis module provides a fully integrated solution for security analysis of file shares:

  • Determines effective permissions, considering inheritance, group structures, and share rights
  • Quick scan to identify explicitly set special permissions
  • Filtering by principal (users/groups) with dynamic display of relevant folders only
  • Visual permission matrix with icons for fast evaluation
  • Ideal for audits, GDPR data subject requests, and permission clean-up

Step-by-step instructions can be found in the Quick Start Guide.

Standard Reports & Marketplace

The Marketplace has been introduced and now offers over 15 ready-to-use standard reports, including:

  • Microsoft 365 Teams and licenses
  • Exchange Online, DNS servers, AD logins
  • Operating system overviews and hardware details

These reports are:

  • ready to use immediately
  • versioned & updatable
  • installable and clonable via the Marketplace for custom adaptations

Detailed information is available in the Marketplace and Standard Reports chapters.

Hyper-V and Veeam Documentation

Docusnap365 now supports deeper inventory and documentation:

  • Hyper-V: Hosts, clusters, VMs, virtual switches, replication, and security features
  • Veeam Backup & Replication: Backup servers, jobs, repositories, tape infrastructure, restore points, and dependency visualization

The goal is to provide a complete view of virtualization and backup environments, including security, availability, and performance aspects.

Detailed information is available in the Hyper-V and Veeam chapters.

Dependencies: Objects on Connections

It is now possible to set connection objects directly on dependencies, for example:

  • REST API as a technical element of a relationship
  • Information objects (e.g. customer data), contracts, or any other object placed on the connection between two systems

This makes the dependency itself a contextual information carrier.

Detailed information is available in the Connection Objects chapter.

Dependencies: Multi-Selection of Start Objects

The dependency view in the analysis section now supports selecting multiple start objects. This enables simultaneous analysis and visualization of interrelations from several starting points. Selected objects are displayed collectively, and their dependencies can be explored together—especially useful for analyzing complex environments with distributed relationships.

Documentation of Information

The new Information segment allows structured documentation of business-critical data objects (e.g., configuration data, billing info, personal data):

  • Includes details such as responsibility, data protection, classification, backup, and location
  • Supports compliance goals and increases transparency

Detailed information is available in the Information chapter.

Documentation of Integrations

The new Integrations segment allows unified documentation of external interfaces (e.g., REST, SQL, SMB, FTP):

  • Includes purpose, location, data format, execution type
  • Supports compliance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management

Detailed information is available in the Integrations chapter.
