    Docusnap365 Overview

    Introduction

As the manufacturer of Docusnap, the all-in-one solution for IT documentation, we have taken the decision to now offer Docusnap as a cloud-based SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) solution. With Docusnap365, we are taking a completely new approach to both the technical infrastructure and the subject area of IT documentation.

    Structure of Docusnap365

The basis for using Docusnap365 is an active contract, which is created when a subscription is taken out. An isolated infrastructure is provided for each Docusnap365 contract. A temporary contract with a 14-day period can be created for interested parties. The management of contracts can be done in the portal my.docusnap.com.

    Isolated Infrastructures

Every Docusnap365 customer, as well as prospective customers, is provided with a isolated infrastructure. This infrastructure includes a data store and a vault designed for storing passwords. This stringent separation is implemented to ensure maximum security and data integrity.

    Components of Docusnap365

Docusnap365 essentially consists of several components that make up the entirety of the infrastructure. The following diagram shows an overview of the following components:

    • Docusnap365 Backend
    • Docusnap Enterprise Gateway
    • Docusnap365 web application
    • Interfaces

Overview of the Docusnap365 backend structure, Docusnap365 services, and Docusnap Enterprise Gateways.

    Docusnap365 Backend

The ‘heart’ of Docusnap365 lies in its backend. In this central hub, services are deployed to receive data from the Docusnap Enterprise Gateway, process it, and securely store it in its isolated data store. The APIs seamlessly deliver the data to the Docusnap365 web application whenever requested.

    Docusnap Enterprise Gateway

The Docusnap Enterprise Gateway functions as a vital interface bridging an organization’s IT infrastructure with Docusnap365. This application facilitates the execution of Discovery jobs, the efficient upload of discovery data to Docusnap365, and the updating of discovery modules.

Any number of Docusnap Enterprise Gateways can be connected for each contract.

    Docusnap365 Web Application

Docusnap365 is accessed via a completely browser-based and easy-to-use web application. This thus represents the “center” for working with Docusnap365. With an appealing design, consistent navigation concepts and excellent performance, it contributes significantly to a positive user experience.

    Interfaces

In Docusnap365, considerable effort has been directed towards the integration of interfaces. Using the Docusnap365 API, alongside connections with Zapier and Power Automate, we aim to maintain the interoperability of Docusnap365.
