    Introduction

In Docusnap365, dependencies are created in two different ways: automatically during inventory and manually by the user. This section focuses on the manual creation of dependencies.

    Manual Creation of Dependencies

There are two options available for creating dependencies: the Dependency Center and the Object Editor.

    Object Editor

To open the Object Editor, navigate in the left menu to “Inventory” or “Business” and select a specific segment. Then, from the appearing list of objects, select the desired object. The pencil icon for editing appears when hovering over an object with the mouse, or alternatively, it can be accessed via the “Edit” button in the detail view of an object. Additionally, the Object Editor can also be opened directly from a diagram or plan by selecting the “Edit” option in the context menu (right-click).

In the “Dependencies” tab within the editor, all existing dependencies are displayed. Clicking “Add” opens a dialog to create a new dependency. Here, a dependency type can be selected from a dropdown menu, which is organized by categories. The selected type is further explained by a supplementary description. The option “Critical” highlights a relationship as particularly important; such relationships are color-marked in plans and are available in the Dependency Center and in the tabular view as a grouping option and separate column. There is also the possibility to add an individual name and description for the relationship.

The lower part of the dialog is divided into two: On the left side, a segment and the associated objects are selected. The objects can be linked to the starting object using drag & drop or the “+” symbol. After saving the process, the dialog closes, and the newly created relationship becomes visible.

    Dependency Center

The Dependency Center is accessible in the segment lists via the “Dependencies” dropdown menu. With the “Show” option, the Dependency Center is activated, which displays all connections of an object. Clicking “Assign” opens the Dependency Center for creating dependencies. After selecting a segment, assignments can be made using drag & drop, where the simultaneous assignment of multiple objects (multi-select) is also possible. These connections are always categorized as “Connected with” relationships.
