Open Analysis & Navigation

How to open an analysis in Docusnap365 and navigate through the main view.

Introduction

After successful NTFS inventory, the results are automatically stored under Analysis > NTFS Analysis. They are available there for further evaluation — for example, to review permissions of individual users or to inspect critical folder details.

Overview: Central Entry View

Clicking on an analysis in the list opens the overview page. At a glance, this provides:

General Information

  • System: Name of the analyzed file server
  • Shares: Listed shares included in the analysis package
  • Domain: Assigned Active Directory domain
  • Capture Time: First and last inventory timestamp

Permissions Overview

  • Number of local groups and users
  • Number of domain principals — users, groups, computer accounts

These boxes give a quick orientation on how many principals are involved.

Directory Overview

The table below lists all analyzed shares including:

  • Local Path
  • Share Name
  • Type
  • Description (if available)
  • Number of explicit permissions
  • Number of analyzed files and folders

You can use column filters to find shares with explicit permissions or specific path components.

Shares are displayed on the left in the Share Tree. Expanding a node allows you to navigate into the folder structure.

Additionally, predefined filters are available under Quick Analyses:

  • Inheritance disabled
  • Explicit permissions
  • Disabled user accounts
  • Foreign domains
  • Unresolvable SIDs
  • Security principals

Clicking on one of these analyses focuses on identifying critical permission patterns.
