Data Quality
2 minute read
Introduction
A reliable basis for analysis and decision-making requires that the underlying data is up-to-date, complete, and consistent.
The Data Quality board provides a clear overview of how well your systems are inventoried and where there are gaps in data quality.
The goal is to identify early on whether data is missing, outdated, or collected with insufficient permissions.
Dashboard Contents
The board includes key metrics for data quality:
Data Freshness
Shows how many systems have not been inventoried for more than 30 or 60 days. This quickly highlights outdated data sets.Collection Quality
Indicates the permissions with which the systems were inventoried. Systems inventoried with administrator rights provide higher data quality than those with limited user rights.Location Assignment
Indicates whether systems are correctly assigned to locations. Systems without location assignment are highlighted, as this information is essential for evaluations and reports.Organization Assignment
Shows whether systems are assigned to an organization and – if available – to which organization. Systems without an organization assignment are listed separately, as they cannot be clearly identified in analyses otherwise.
Benefits
The Data Quality board answers key questions at a glance:
- Are all systems regularly inventoried, or are there data gaps?
- With which permissions were the systems inventoried – and how reliable is the data as a result?
- Are all systems correctly assigned to locations and organizations?
This board helps to build trust in the data foundation and ensures that evaluations, analyses, and reports are reliable.
