Documentation

Central repository for standard reports, custom reports, and automatically generated plans in Docusnap365. Enables structured use and reuse of generated content.

Introduction

The Documentation section in Docusnap365 provides a central interface for all output documents – from automatically generated standard reports to visual network diagrams. These contents support both internal traceability and external communication, e.g., for audits, compliance, or operational reviews.

Structure of the Documentation Section

The documentation area is divided into two main categories:

1. Reports

The Reports section includes both automatically generated standard reports and user-defined custom templates. These reports are:

  • Based on discovery and analysis results
  • Automatically updated after each discovery
  • Aggregated summaries of technical and organizational information

Typical use cases include permission overviews, system inventories, user structures, or license reports.

2. Plans

The Plans section presents automatically generated network, routing, and topology diagrams. These are based on the discovery results and offer:

  • Interactive, customizable visualizations
  • Layer 3 routing views and physical topologies
  • Export options, e.g., to Visio

Plans support the visualization of infrastructure, connections, segmentations, and troubleshooting.

Benefits

  • Central access to all documentation-related content
  • Up-to-date through automatic updates after discovery
  • Tabular and visual representation combined
  • Audit-ready and suitable for compliance
  • Exportable in common formats (PDF, Excel, Visio)

Tip

Use the global basic data filters to limit reports and plans to specific organizations, platforms, or locations – ensuring that documentation always reflects only the relevant part of your environment.
