View, refresh, and structure documentation in Docusnap365 – with standard and custom report templates.

Introduction

The Reports section in Docusnap365 provides a structured way to display and present information. It includes both standard reports from discovery data and custom reports. These reports support documentation, analysis, and internal or external communication.

Types of Reports in Docusnap365

Standard Reports

Docusnap365 provides a variety of ready-to-use reports, such as:

  • Operating system overviews
  • Microsoft 365: licenses, teams, groups
  • Active Directory: users, groups, logins
  • Hardware and software inventories
  • NTFS permissions (from NTFS analysis)

These reports are automatically updated on a regular basis after each new discovery or analysis run. They are versioned and can be extended via the Marketplace.

Custom Reports

In addition to standard reports, custom report templates can be created and saved in report libraries. This allows tailored outputs, for example:

  • Customer-facing reports
  • Management summaries
  • Audit & compliance documentation

Custom reports are based on available data models in Docusnap365 and can include personalized layouts, filters, and content.

Note: Editing custom templates is done outside the “Documentation” area – e.g., via the report template management.

Documentation Reports = Aggregated Summaries

The reports displayed under the “Documentation” section are typically aggregated summaries. They are designed to combine complex discovery data into structured outputs, such as:

  • System overviews with locations and platforms
  • Permission summaries across shared folders
  • Responsibility and application assignments

These reports provide the documentation view on data – as opposed to deep-dive analysis or technical evaluation.

Use Cases

  • Viewing reports directly in the browser
  • Exporting to PDF or Excel for sharing
  • Referencing in other documentation areas (e.g., as embedded evidence)

Editing and layout adjustments are only available for custom templates.

Benefits

  • Quick access to aggregated and validated insights
  • Versioned content via automatic updates
  • Blend of standard and custom outputs
  • Centralized storage in the “Documentation” section
