Inventorying Veeam B&R
2 minute read
Introduction
The Docusnap Enterprise Gateway enables agentless scanning of Veeam servers.
Details such as jobs, backup history, replications, repositories, and backup status are centrally collected.
Optionally, the collection of backup history can be limited to a defined period to optimize data volume and runtime.
The goal is to provide a complete overview of the Veeam B&R environment—from the deployed backup servers and configured repositories to executed backup and replication jobs.
General
General information about the wizards and scheduling can be found in the Wizard Guide.
“Veeam Backup & Replication” Wizard
In the IPv4 or Server Name field, enter the Veeam server to be inventoried.
“Server Name”, “Username”, and “Password” always form a single unit.
Click New to add a new row.
Once the job has been submitted to the Docusnap Enterprise Gateway, each entry is processed individually.
A corresponding template can be downloaded via the “i” icon next to the CSV Import button.
Further details can be found in the Wizard Guide.
Using the Inventory Options button, you can limit the backup history.
By default, a value of 42 days is set.
Adjusting this value allows you to flexibly control the amount of backup history data collected.
Discovery-VeeamBR.exe
Docusnap365 provides the Discovery-VeeamBR.exe, which allows you to collect information from a Veeam server without using the Docusnap Enterprise Gateway.
The generated output files can then be imported into Docusnap365 via an import job.
