Introduction

The journal in Docusnap365 records all relevant changes to objects – from initial discovery to the addition or removal of dependencies, as well as manual modifications. It provides complete traceability and enables transparency for operations, analysis, and audits.

Using Docusnap365 in the Context of Journals

Journals are available for all object types – such as systems, applications, people, business services, or hardware components. They are automatically maintained and can be viewed by authorized users.

Typical Entries in the Journal:

  • Discovery executed
  • Dependencies added or removed
  • Object details manually edited
  • Responsibilities assigned
  • Tags or descriptions modified

Journal Features at a Glance

  • Column filters: Narrow down by user, action, or date
  • Sorting: Sort by date, action, or name (ascending/descending)

Example: Hardware Journal

Using a workstation (e.g. “HP Z420”) as an example, the journal shows:

  • When the device was discovered
